MINNEAPOLIS - A subsidiary of a Minnesota-based company has been assigned the task of helping correct computer glitches on the nation's health care exchange website.

UnitedHealthcare provides health care coverage and benefits services, and it's subsidiary, Optum, provides information and technology-enabled health services.

Optum bought Quality Software Services Inc. or QSSI last year. It's that company that has been assigned to improve the functionality of healthcare.gov.

"Working with CMS, QSSI will help monitor, assess, prioritize and manage the technical operations of healthcare.gov to enhance the consumer experience," the company said in a statement.

QSSI has offices in Maryland, Virginia, South Carolina and India.
