STORY TEXT: it makes a world of difference
(REPORTER VOICE) FOR YEARS, SOME ADULTS HAVE RUN TO CHIROPRACTORS...

there it is, now feel that, how does that feel? great!
(REPORTER VOICE) TO WORK THEIR MAGIC.

great! i can move now again
(REPORTER VOICE) BUT IS THIS THE NEW FACE OF CHIROPRACTIC CARE?

i'm looking at the neck and how she holds her head...

you know i didn't come in thinking this was the miracle cure, but i was going to give it a try
(REPORTER VOICE) RACHAEL RAHN IS JUST TWO MONTHS OLD, AND HER MOTHER SWEARS THIS MAN CHANGED THEIR LIVES. - out of four kids, i had two others with colic and i had to put up with screaming for four months, with her, it was two weeks and then it was fixed by coming to the chiropractor
(REPORTER VOICE) JODY RAHN SAYS HER DAUGHTER WAS FUSSY, HAD GAS PAINS AND SCREAMING FITS...UNTIL SHE BROUGHT HER TO THE CHIROPRACTOR.

and the next day it was the first day she had started smiling for us

she's unhappy because of her condition and she can't voice it to us, hey something is wrong with me, fix it, you can only go by what you see

oh, there they go, keep going!
(REPORTER VOICE) LITTLE ADAM REIGEL STARTED GOING TO THE CHIROPRACTOR WHEN HE WAS JUST NINE MONTHS OLD.

i was skeptical at first, but he said just trust me and so we did and it worked

he slept so much better and we got a good night's sleep that night, i mean, so that's night and day to us!
(REPORTER VOICE) THE REIGELS SAY THEY COULD NOT BELIEVE THE DIFFERENCE IN ADAM, AFTER JUST ONE VISIT TO THE CHIROPRACTOR.

yep i got him, there we go buddy, he usually gets a little fussy, see he's doing pretty good today
(REPORTER VOICE) CHIROPRACTOR ARLIN FRANK OF HUDSON, WISCONSIN, TREATS CHILDREN FOR EVERYTHING FROM EAR INFECTIONS, TO COLIC TO BED WETTING. HE SAYS THIS TECHNIQUE SHOWS HIM EXACTLY WHERE A LITTLE ONE IS HAVING SOME PROBLEMS.

there you go, that's all i need...
(REPORTER VOICE) SOMETHING A LOT OF PARENTS NEVER EVEN THINK ABOUT, WHEN THEIR CHILD'S IN PAIN.

cause i have patients who come to me and think, oh? bring my kid to you? oh i never thought of that, but it's the same thing, we're doing the same thing, we're checking them out the same way we would an adult

i'd say try it and keep an open mind, and just try it, and the results will speak for themselves, if it doesn't work, but i will almost guarantee it will

i would be very, very skeptical
(REPORTER VOICE) DOCTOR TIM GARVEY IS AN ORTHOPEDIC SURGEON AT THE TWIN CITIES SPINE CENTER. HE SAYS BABIES ARE SO FRAGILE AND SO PLIABLE, THAT THERE'S A SMALL CHANCE OF LONG TERM DAMAGE TO THE SPINE.

and that bone could be displaced, it could move and then damage the spinal cord, so again, it would be very very unusual, but possible.
(REPORTER VOICE) HE SAYS MOST BABIES OUTGROW COLIC OR GAS ON THEIR OWN. SO TAKING CHILDREN TO CHIROPRACTORS COULD BE A WASTE OF MONEY.

the children or the parents who get treated, like the chiropractic treatment, did it change the ultimate course of their back pain or neck pain? the answer is no, but they like their treatment and they feel better while they're there and that's up to society to answer, is that what we want to pay for?

oh my gosh! are you happy, huh? and the more we do it, the more we should see the arms want to drop over the head
(REPORTER VOICE) JODY RAHN SAYS CHIROPRACTIC CARE FOR HER BABY IS WORTH EVERY SINGLE DIME.

i'd say you have to give it a try because the change it made in rachael and how much happier she was and how much more comfortable she was, you have to give it a try
(REPORTER VOICE) BECAUSE SHE SAYS, YOU CAN'T PUT A PRICE TAG, ON THIS SMILE. IN HUDSON WISCONSIN, ELLEN KOLODZIEJ, KARE 11 NEWS.
