ST. LOUIS PARK, Minn. - For Benilde-St. Margaret's first baseman/pitcher Mikey McGill, the past week has been quite a whirlwind.
The Red Knights played seven games last week in which McGill played an signficant role on both the mound and at the plate. In the first game of a doubleheader May 6, McGill went six innings allowing just three runs on five hits while striking out six. Later that week, McGill pitched four innings while also driving in the game-winning run driving a ball off the right-center field wall.
During those seven games, he collected 13 hits and seven RBI.
On the mound, McGill allowed just eight hits in 10 innings of work while striking out 10. As of May 13, McGill sports a .421 batting average and a 4.00 ERA.
