MINNEAPOLIS - Another Viking has found himself in trouble with the law.
Defensive back A.J. Jefferson was booked into the Hennepin County Jail just before 7 a.m. Monday on a charge of domestic assault.
An Eden Prairie Police spokesperson says at about 4:30 a.m. Monday a 23-year-old female reported that she was a victim of domestic assault.
Squads were dispatched and officers arrested the 25-year-old Jefferson at his residence in Eden Prairie. He is being held in the Hennepin County Jail while prosecutors review the case and consider possible charges.
Shortly after news broke of Jefferson's arrest the Minnesota Vikings announced that the 4th year player had been cut from the squad.
Jefferson had been with the Vikings for two seasons. He started 7 games for the team during the 2012-2013 season, but has served only as a backup this year. He previously played with the Arizona Cardinals.
