CAMBRIDGE, Minn. - The Isanti County Sheriff's Department says a 13-year-old boy died Thursday afternoon after being hit by a car while riding his bicycle.
The accident happened near the intersection of 329th Avenue and Airport Way around 3:00 p.m. The driver of the vehicle, a 16-year-old boy, suffered minor injuries.
The names of those involved are not being released while authorities notify relatives. Both boys, however, are from Cambridge.
The boys' schools have been notified of the accident and will provide counseling to students when school resumes on Monday.
The Minnesota State Patrol is assisting with the investigation.
