BROOKLYN PARK, Minn. - One person was hospitalized following a house fire in Brooklyn Park Friday morning.
Crews were dispatched to 7443 Meadowwood Court North shortly after 6 a.m. on reports of a home on fire. When firefighters arrived they discovered a four season porch on the rear of the house was fully engulfed.
A second alarm summoned additional crews from Brooklyn Center and Fridley to help battle the blaze. An aggressive attack was mounted and the fire was brought under control in approximately 20 minutes.
Fire Chief Kenneth Prillaman reports that one resident of the home suffered burns and smoke inhalation and was transported to the hospital. There were no other injuries.
The fire is under investigation.
