GOLDEN VALLEY, Minn. - Get ready!
The first measurable snowfall of the season looks poised to descend upon the Twin Cities Tuesday night. A Winter Storm Watch is posted for late Tuesday into Tuesday night.
Tuesday morning will start out dry but clouds will thicken up quickly through the day with rain/snow showers developing by late afternoon/evening affecting the evening commute most likely.
Expect the wet mix to change to mainly snow in the overnight hours Tuesday night. Accumulations will be heavily dependent upon how much cold air works into the atmosphere over the next 24-36 hours. Totals could range from a potential slushy inch in the southeast metro to as much as four inches in the western suburbs.
The heaviest snow looks to fall further to the southwest where conditions will be colder. A potential for six inch-plus exists with this storm in south central Minnesota.
This system is still developing so the track & amount of cold air could change, impacting the forecast. Stay tuned!
