MAPLEWOOD, Minn. - The Minnesota State Patrol is investigating after a pedestrian was struck and killed by an SUV in Maplewood early Tuesday evening.
The State Patrol website says a 78-year-old woman was driving her Ford Escape northbound on Highway 120 near the intersection with 10th Street around 5:45 p.m. when she came upon two pedestrians walking on the right shoulder of the road.
Those pedestrians reportedly crossed the road right in front of the SUV while not in a crosswalk, and one of them was struck and killed.
No information has yet been released on the victim, other than the fact she is female.
Investigators say the driver was only going 20 to 25 miles an hour when the pedestrian was struck.
