RICHFIELD, Minn. - Call it another way to burn off the turkey and pumpkin pie.
More than 1,000 Best Buy stores across the county will open their doors at 6 p.m. in an attempt to jump start the holiday buying season. Those stores, spread out across 47 states, will remain open until 10 p.m. Friday.
A spokesperson for the company says the key to Best Buy's transformation is its singular focus on customer service, including giving consumers the opportunity to shop when and where they want.
Best Buy has designed the 2013 holiday plan with a variety of shopping options, including multiple doorbuster deals throughout the night on Thanksgiving and into the morning on Black Friday.
All affected hourly store employees impacted by the early opening will receive holiday pay.
