BRAINERD, Minn. - Human remains found by hunters in Crow Wing County over the weekend are believed to be those of a missing Crosby man.
Deputies were dispatched to a wooded area in Perry Lake township just before 12:30 p.m. after deer hunters made the discovery.
Based on evidence at the scene, the remains are believed to be 27-year-old Jesse James Larson who had been reported missing by family members on June 21.
Crow Wing County Sheriff Todd Dahl says at this time foul play is not suspected in Larson's death.
"This is a very tough situation for not only the family, but the many people involved," said Dahl. "Our deepest sympathy goes out to all who knew Jesse Larson and the entire Larson family."
The remains were transported to the Ramsey County Medical Examiner's Office for positive identification.
