GOLDEN VALLEY, Minn.-- October is National Bullying Prevention month, and Green Giant and PACER are encouraging parents, children, students, educators and community members to take a stance and unite against bullying via their "Raise a Giant" campaign.
This morning, PACER'S Julie Hertzog joined us to tell us more about the campaign and about a Unity Day community event scheduled on October 9, 2013.
"Raise a Giant" is helping parents and kids find the courage to speak up against bullying in their communities and is focused on the countless kids who witness or experience bullying encounters, and how their parents can help kid tap into their 'inner giant' and speak up against bullying. Visit raiseagiant.com and read, write and share letters with their kids to encourage them to stand up to bullying.
You're also invited to show support by attending a community event at Statue Park (1126 Green Giant Lane) in Blue Earth on October 9th at 10 a.m. Attendees are encouraged to wear orange, the official color of Unity Day, to send a message of hope to end bullying in all communities.
