Thousands expected at the Mall of America to support Autism

BLOOMINGTON, Minn. -- Thousands are expected at the Mall of America Saturday for the 2013 Walk Now for Autism Speaks.

The event will raise funds and awareness for autism advocacy with all proceeds from the event going to support Autism Speaks, an organization dedicated to funding research and advocating the needs of individuals with autism and their families.

Saturday's event will include a two lap walk around the Mall, a community resource fair with over 60 vendors, Highlight It Up Blue where participants can get blue highlights in their hair to support Autism Speaks, with games, activities and prizes all morning long.

The resource fair will take place from 7 a.m. to 9:30 a.m. and will feature educational sources, therapists, schools, recreational organizations, and child-friendly activities.

Registration will take place in the Rotunda from 7 a.m. to 8 a.m. with opening ceremonies to follow.
