EDEN PRAIRIE, Minn. - The Minnesota Vikings have cut quarterback McLeod Bethel-Thompson to make room for newly-acquired quarterback Josh Freeman.
Freeman was signed to a one-year deal with Minnesota after being cut by the Tampa Bay Buccaneers last week.
Bethel-Thompson has played the last two seasons with the Vikings as the No. 3 quarterback on the depth chart.
Bethel-Thompson has been put on waivers. If he is not claimed by another team, the Vikings would be able to add him to the team's practice squad.
