TWIN CITIES, Minn-- MNsure does not have any enrollment numbers yet but reports the new system is running smoothly.

The website receives an average of 30,000 to 50,000 hits per hour. More than 2,500 accounts have been created, and an estimated 2,000 to 3,000 Minnesotans are perusing the website at any given time.

KARE 11 asked viewers to weigh on Facebook, and Jennifer Rudolph was among dozens not so sure about the cost.

"It's just with the middle class, with our income unfortunately, it is way too high," said Rudolph.

She is searching for better health insurance for her 19 year daughter and husband, and says after doing the math, MNsure estimated a $4,500 deductible and $337 monthly payment. She says that leaves her family out of the equation.

"It's a great idea in theory, but just some kinks that need to be ironed out. I would like them to take a person's income minus their expenses and come up with an amount of left over that could be affordable to pay every month," she said.

But, another Twin Cities mother sees another side of the system. Kate-Madonna Hindes says after a 2007 cervical cancer diagnosis, most companies deemed her uninsurable, and the companies that took a chance on her charged a cost too exorbitant. She was a single mother at the time.

"I wasn't shopping for my dream career, I was shopping for affordable health care coverage," she said.

Now Hindes is under her spouse's health insurance. She says despite other reports of technical glitches, her enrollment research was "seamless" with costs are comparable to private coverage.

She calculated the monthly cost of her family of four and says it's similar to what it used to cost for her coverage alone.

Hindes says while it isn't the cheapest option, it's a good secondary option for her family and can help educate other families about their options. She believes this new marketplace has insured what was once her dream.

"I didn't have to talk once my disease, not once did it ask me -  what was your history like? Have you had diseases? Do you have cancer? I just got to say hey - I'm Kate Madonna Hindes and I'm looking for insurance."
