CHAMPLIN PARK, Minn - It's an early morning start for the Champlin Park concert Choir. But, as the choir goes through its warmup drills, senior Brady Soderstrom seems as if he's motivated to perform. That might be because Brady's been singing in choirs for years.

Before Brady joined C-P's concert choir he sang as a member of the New Hope Church youth group, but it also might be because Brady's choir days may be coming to an end.

"College choir takes up a lot of time", says Brady. "And, if I try to play a sport and be in choir it would be very busy. So, it depends on whether or not I'm going to play a sport in college."

A member of the National Honor Society and Champlin Park's leadership council, Brady prides himself on being able to think on his feet.

"I think my biggest strength would be my problem solving," says Brady. "I like to get a problem and then figure it out, no matter what it takes. No matter how long it takes, I want to figure out the problem at all costs. So, I think that's my biggest strength."

Brady hopes to someday put his problem-solving skills to work as an engineer.

Says Brady, "I want to get into engineering, which field of engineering I'm not sure yet."

Brady's success in class carries over to athletics where he was a captain of the football team, and in the spring he'll also be a captain of the baseball team. Activities, Brady says, have actually helped to make him a better student.

"Studies have shown that student athletes are more successful than people who don't do anything after school," says Brady. "And, I think that because I play sports I am a better student."

Right now, Brady is leaning towards attending Bethel University, where he would play baseball and maybe football. But first comes graduating from high school, where Brady ranks in the top 30 in a class of just under 800 students.
