GOLDEN VALLEY, Minn. -- Now in its 13th year, the Nature Valley Bicycle Festival is a ten day celebration of bicycling that includes amateur and professional racing and community events.
The Nature Valley Grand Prix has become the premier professional bike race in the U.S., attracting top American racing teams and nearly 300 top riders from around the world. Races are free and open to the public.
Nature Valley Bicycle Festival Minnesota Fixed Gear Classic June 10-12
What: A FREE festival and fixed gear track race featuring the country's top cyclists. Professional and elite amateur track cyclists will compete in a series of fast-paced sprint and brutal endurance events for men and women. Fixed gear bikes have one gear and no brakes. Achieving speeds up to 40 mph, riders race on an oval, wooden track with 43 degree angles, making the races incredibly exciting for both racers and spectators.

Colton Barrett, The defending men's champion is a 20-year old local racer from North St. Paul in his first year with the pro team.
Shelley Olds, The 2010 Nature Valley Grand Prix champion will race at the track the weekend before she defends her road race title. Her track accomplishments include two U.S. National Championships and two World Cup podium appearances.
Franco Marvulli, four-time world champion from Switzerland
Michael Blatchford, 12-time national champion and 2008 Olympian.
Aaron Trent, U.S. Paralympian with two national championships and a silver and bronze at world championships. Aaron competes while dealing with cerebral palsy.
The Nature Valley Bicycle Festival will continue with the Nature Valley Grand Prix June 15-19. The pro bike race features six stages over five days taking place Wednesday in Saint Paul, Thursday in Cannon Falls, Friday in Minneapolis, Saturday in Menomonie, Wisc. and Sunday in Stillwater.
