GOLDEN VALLEY, Minn. -- One of the favorite trails for cyclists in the Twin Cities is getting a little longer. A new 7-mile stretch of the Dakota Rail Trail in Carver County near Lake Waconia will soon open.
In this week's Pedaling With Pat, we took a look at the trail and heard about an event cyclists won't want to miss in the coming weeks.

Samuel Pertz from Carver County Parks Department joined KARE 11 News @4 to talk GoCarverGo, a public health campaign focusing on individual, family and community health.
The Dakota Rail Regional Trail is a 44-mile former railroad corridor in the counties of Hennepin, Carver, and McLeod. A portion of the trail in Hennepin County at the City of Wayzata to the City of St. Bonifacius was constructed in 2008. In 2010 additional trail and bridge work in Hennepin County extended the trail form the City of St. Bonifacius to the Carver County line.
