"Keeping busy makes us feel good."
Devoted and giving are two words used to describe Donald and Neva Ikier. For the past 30 years they have volunteered at Immanuel St. Joseph's Hospital in Mankato, collectively logging over 59,000 hours of service.
They help out wherever needed, from delivering flowers and mail, to helping at the information desk, and folding baby clothes in the nursery. Don and Neva have done it all! However, Don is best known because of his help with hospital tours for 2nd graders. Don and Neva are so dedicated to volunteering that not even bad weather can keep them away.
When asked why they volunteer, their answer is simple, "Neighbors are supposed to help neighbors."
