"Be passionate about what you do. Make a difference. Accept Responsibility."
As one of his nominators noted, "No one multi-tasks better than Gene!" Equal to his drive to succeed in business, is his belief in the importance of giving back. Eugene Sit has been involved with numerous organizations, but in 2004 he decided it was time to start one of his own.
Eugene's goal was simple; to say 'Thanks' to Minnesota's soldiers for defending our freedom. The execution, however, was a bit more complicated. After a year of planning, his vision was launched in the form of the Minnesotans' Military Appreciation Fund (MMAF). MMAF is the nation's first and largest non-partisan fundraising initiative to benefit soldiers in combat. To date, MMAF has raised over $5 million and awarded over 3,000 grants to Minnesota's soldiers. MMAF awards grants to Minnesotans who served in combat and to the families of those killed in combat. These grants are a token of appreciation for the hard work and sacrifices the soldiers made.
Eugene is involved in every aspect of MMAF, and his passion is obvious.
