"Angels are surrounding us, helping us."
Jane Baxter may very well be one of those angels.
For the last eight years, she's been watching over the most fragile patients at Minneapolis Children's Hospitals and Clinics. Every Saturday, you'll find her rocking babies in the Infant Care Center. Her gentle touch and calm voice soothe the infants. Her volunteering also gives parents a chance to take a much-needed break.
"You don't think that any of this can happen, but it does."
Jane also gives her time to the Hospice Home Care program. She works with families who have children who are sick or dying. Sometimes she visits with the patient. Other times she plays with the other children to make them feel special.
The emotional investment of Jane's volunteer work is enough to scare off most people. But she encourages others to become volunteers.
"There are lots of things you can do with your life. Find your passion."
