"It's not work. It's something to do."
Cliff Foster has a matter-of-fact attitude about his volunteer work. Five hours a day, five days a week, you'll find him helping serve meals to senior citizens at the Crystal Community Center. It's something he's been doing for nearly twenty years. The ironic thing is, Cliff could very easily just sit back and enjoy the meals himself. But, at 91 years of age, Cliff says he'd rather "keep busy."
So every Monday through Friday, starting at 8:00am, you'll find him setting tables, preparing food, or doing whatever it takes to get the food on the table. He even helps with the clean-up.
Cliff walks about a half-mile each day to and from the Crystal Center, so his volunteering also serves as a daily exercise program.
Why does he do it?
"I don't want to sit in the house and look out the windows."
By the way, tonight is a 'first' for Cliff --- the first time he's ever worn a tuxedo!
