CHASKA, Minn. - We spent the morning at the University of Minnesota Landscape Arboretum on Thursday and planned on talking about rhododendrons and azaleas for this week's Grow with KARE but because of the cold mornings this week the blossoms all froze out!
It turned out to be just fine because what we found was that the redbud trees were AMAZING! We found them in the hosta glade in the Japanese garden and a few other spots along the three mile drive. You can't miss the amazing color that shows up in the understory of the groves of trees at this time of year.
Here is more info about ornamental trees from the U of M.
