PRIOR LAKE, Minn. -- Police need your help to catch a crook who stole four puppies early Monday morning from a kennel in Prior Lake. Surveillance video shows the crime which happened between 1:30 and 2:00 a.m.
"He had to have known what he was doing because he went straight for the kennel and he looked like he grabbed as many puppies as he could and got out right away," said Jeff Bardon with Thunder Owl Kennels.
Bardon had just installed the cameras eight days earlier. They show the man, who has several tattoos, including one on the back of his neck, walk in and scoop up the dogs with ease.
The Siberian Huskies are worth about $2,000, but money is not the concern here. The puppies are only 3-and-a-half weeks old. They are far too young to be separated from their mother.
"Unfortunately if we don't get them back they're probably going to die, unless he knows what he's doing and is able to nurse them," said Bardon.
The dogs haven't had any of their shots yet and could very easily get sick. One of them has a medical condition with its tail and there is concern it could get infected.
The Prior Lake Police are investigating. If you know the person in the video or have information about the crime, you are asked to please come forward.
