SAUK RAPIDS, Minn. - Sauk Rapids police are investigating the death of a 3-month-old who drowned at Journey Home Halfway House, a residential treatment facility.
The baby died Sunday after police were called to Journey Home, 1485 10th Avenue Northeast, Police Chief Perry Beise said. Staff at the facility had already started CPR on the baby when officers arrived at about 7:30 a.m. Sunday.
The child was identified as Fallyn Jasper Ottenhausen, Beise said.
The Ramsey County Medical Examiner's Office performed an autopsy on the baby and made a preliminary determination that the baby died from accidental drowning, Beise said.
The investigation into the child's death is ongoing, he said. At this point it is unclear if charges will be filed in the case.
