NEW RICHMOND, Wis. - Police in western Wisconsin are working to identify a body found Monday morning laying under a water tower.
New Richmond Police Chief Mark Samelstad says dispatchers received a call just after 7:45 a.m. reporting a body underneath the water tower behind the New Richmond Fire Department.
Officers responded and found a body of a white male laying on the ground. No identification was found on the body. The cause of death at this time is not known, nor are authorities saying if the death is suspicious.
The case is under investigation by the New Richmond Police Department St. Croix Medical Examiner's Office and the St. Croix County Sheriff's Department.
