MINNEAPOLIS - Police are asking their Facebook friends to help catch a crook.

Friday afternoon, Minneapolis Police posted a picture on their Facebook page of a would-be bicycle thief.

The picture was taken at 5:03 a.m. on Saturday, September 10, by a security camera at an apartment complex on the 3000 block of Ewing Avenue South. Police say the suspect broke into a garage and stole a women's Trek bicycle.

The Facebook fans of the Minneapolis Police Department were quick to comment on the photo, noting the suspect seemingly staring directly at the security camera.

"If you're gonna make an effort to steal something, don't stare right at the camera moron," one commenter wrote. "Someone's gonna recognize that idiot thief for sure."

The Facebook post asks anyone with information to call 612-673-5722.
