One letter makes all the difference
The 'n' should've been an 'm'.
So we're on the plane waiting to head back to Minnesota from North Carolina. We'd all settled in to our stuffy seats (one of the air conditioning units wasn't working) and were impatiently waiting for the pilot to push back from the gate. There'd already been a delay. The last thing we needed was anything that would further slow down the take off.
Then Parker perked up.
Tired, bored and hungry he leaned across the seat and yelled to me, "Dad, what kind of gun do you have in your bag?"
Gun? In my bag? What!?
Heads turned and I my heart sank.
Then I got it.
No guns. No worries, folks.
"He means gum," I said to the perplexed passengers across the way. "Gum, not gun."
It was good old-fashioned Fruit Stripes. I let him have the whole pack. Anything to keep him from making the Olsens the reason for further delays.
