GOLDEN VALLEY, Minn. - This past weekend, my wife and I went to the flicks to catch the new Twilight movie. I know, it's just for teenage girls.

Yeah, maybe.

Like the Harry Potter series, the Twilight books got more serious (and more interesting) as the series went on. I suspect that 90% of the folks in that dark auditorium had read the books, so they should have known what was coming.

Here's the thing: There were a couple of women sitting in front of us with young girls in tow. Maybe they couldn't get a babysitter, maybe they can't afford a babysitter, but (note to parents) those kids were way too young for this movie.

It's not that there is sex (heaven forbid) on the big screen. There is, but, after all, it's their honeymoon and part of the plot line is they haven't done "it" until then. However, it's rough sex. He's a super-strong vampire, after all. And she's not.

That's the first thing, but it's not the real problem. Unless you've been living under a rock, you know that Bella (the human) gets pregnant. How this is possible (since he's the living dead) is a mystery. And it's the pregnancy from Hell.

She is in agony throughout. This is what a mother wants her little girl to see? A woman torn apart by giving birth? Yipes! If my wife had seen those scenes in her youth, my son might not be here!

A little common sense, Ladies. Get a babysitter! And I don't care if you've been reading the books to the tyke at bedtime.

For little girls, this is the stuff that nightmares are made of.
