Kia plans on releasing different styles of the Forte throughout 2014. The first available style is the sedan, offered in LX and EX trims, followed by the four-door hatchback and finally the coupe.

The LX is outfitted with a 1.8-liter four-cylinder engine. Standard is a six-speed manual transmission, and buyers can opt for a six-speed automatic transmission earning 25 mpg in the city and 36 mpg on the highway.
The EX comes standard with a direct-injected 2.0-liter four-cylinder engine generating 173 horsepower and 154 pounds to feet of torque. The same transmission options earned 24 mpg city and 36 mpg highway for the EX engine.
