GOLDEN VALLEY, Minn. -- Minnesota lawmakers are headed into overtime. The legislative session is officially over with no budget in place to deal with the state's multi-billion dollar shortfall.

Lawmakers must now return at Governor Dayton's call to solve the $5 billion deficit. There also is the chance that a partial government shutdown could happen in early July when the current budget expires.

David Schultz, Political Expert and Hamline University Professor joined us on KARE 11 Sunrise with more on the situation.
