BROOKLYN PARK, Minn. -- Organizers of the Pilgrim Dry Cleaners Coats For Kids campaign hope to distribute 10,000 jackets to needy families in the Minneapolis-St. Paul area.
"The public has always come through for us," said Kurt Jones of Pilgrim Dry Cleaners. "We're asking for 10,000. We'd love to get more."
The donated coats will be delivered to kids in need through the help of eight community organizations. All donated coats will be cleaned prior to distribution. The participating organizations are:
You can donate new and gently-used coats at any of the 25 Pilgrim Cleaners throughout the Twin Cities metro area. There is a list of locations on the company's website. The 2010 collection continues through October 8th.
Individual donations are appreciated and group collections are also encouraged. To register a group donation and arrange coat drop-off, call Judy at 763-425-7524, ext. 226 weekdays from 9:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m.
