SHOREVIEW, Minn. - Colleagues at a Minneapolis law firm say their thoughts and prayers are with the family of Nancy Sullivan. She was shot and killed in Shoreview as she was moving out of a house she shared with her boyfriend, identified by neighbors as John Simpson.
Ramsey County sheriff's officials have not officially identified those involved in Tuesday's shooting, but say the woman and man who shared the house are dead and a male and female are wounded. Authorities say the man who died is the only suspected shooter.
Neighbor Roger Menk says the wounded woman is Sullivan's daughter, identified by family members as Kathleen Fay, and the wounded man is Fay's boyfriend Tony Brown. Both are being treated at Regions Hospital.
Fay's family released the following statement through Regions Hospital.
"We are grateful for all of the thoughts and prayers for our family. We ask that the media and the public respect our privacy at this time, so that we may focus on healing."
Sullivan was a partner at the Barnes & Thornburg law firm. "We are greatly saddened to learn about the loss of our beloved law partner and colleague, Nancy Sullivan," said her colleague Peter Ekberg in a written statement. "Our thoughts and prayers go out to Nancy's family at this difficult time. She was an exceptional lawyer and a wonderful person. We will miss her greatly."
