MINNEAPOLIS - Family members and friends are gathering in Minneapolis Thursday morning to mount a search for a woman missing since Tuesday afternoon.

Mari Michelle Ruddy, described as an active member of the Seward neighborhood, is a type 1 diabetic.

Search crews gathered at the former Minnehaha Coffee at 4554 Minnehaha Ave. in Minneapolis around 9 a.m. and will check in with each other every two hours.

Mari's family is concerned that she may try to harm herself and are asking residents of both Minneapolis and St. Paul to keep their eyes open for her. They say she may have gone to a place with spiritual significance, beauty or seclusion.

Anyone who would like to help in the search efforts is asked to access a special Facebook group set up to coordinate the search for Mari Ruddy.
