ST. PAUL, Minn. - The Minnesota State Patrol has identified the driver involved in Thursday's fatal car accident in a construction zone in Burnsville.
Authorities say 21-year-old Kirk Deamos of Raymore, Missouri, was behind the wheel when his car struck two construction workers, killing one and injuring another. The second later died at Hennepin County Medical Center.
A public search of Kirk Deamos' name yielded a public Facebook page with posts referencing a road trip to Minnesota. However, KARE 11 has not been able to confirm with absolute certainty that this is the same Kirk Deamos involved in Thursday's crash.
In a post timestamped early Thursday morning, Deamos wrote "On my way to Minnesota!"
On Tuesday, Deamos posted "Today is a good day! I am now the proud owner of a red 3000gt that is basically faster than than a rocket... Ready to really test it out on the highway to Minnesota Thursday!!! So pumped!:)"
On a picture of a car's dented rear bumper, he commented "Don't worry, my motto is safety first!!! Hahaha, oh wait, no it's not... It's, live fast, and try not to hit many light poles! ;)" That post was from December 25, 2010.
No charges have been filed in connection with Thursday's accident.
