MINNEAPOLIS - The Hennepin County Medical Examiner says University of Minnesota football player Gary Tinsley died of an enlarged heart.

The 22-year from Florida was found dead inside his campus apartment on April 6.

On Wednesday, the medical examiner reported Tinsley's manner of death was natural and cause of death was cardiomegaly, which commonly refers to an enlarged heart.

Tinsley was set to graduate in just a few weeks and had been one of the Gophers leading tacklers the past two seasons.

Tinsley was laid to rest in his hometown of Jacksonville, Florida.
