GOLDEN VALLEY, Minn. - If gas prices feel higher than normal, that's because 2013 is the worst February on the record.

That's according to AAA, which says a gallon of unleaded gas has increased 49 cents per gallon since the beginning of the year.

The current average price for a gallon of unleaded in $3.78 nationally. It's a bit cheaper here in Minnesota at $3.76. A month ago it was $3.31.  It was $3.61 on February 28, 2012.

Julie Nelson sat down with John Felmy, Chief Economist for the American Petroleum Institute to learn more.
