About 28,000 C1000 Capresso Automatic Coffee Center machines, manufactured by Eugster/Frismag and imported by Capresso Inc., are being recalled because the electrical connectors in the espresso machine can erode, posing a fire hazard. The firm has received four reports of fires started inside the coffee center. No injuries or property damage have been reported. The espresso machines have C1000 printed in large type on the front panel and model number 152 printed on the bottom of the machine. They were sold at department stores and independent specialty stores nationwide from July 1999 through October 2005. Consumers should stop using the machines and contact Capresso to arrange for a free repair at 888-406-4440 or visit http://www.capresso.com or http://www.cpsc.gov for more information.
