BUFFALO, Minn. - KARE 11 News is learning more information about the Carver County man who was convicted of killing his mother when he was a minor.
Authorities say Christian Oberender bought ten guns between December of 2005 and December 2012. He bought seven in the first four months of 2011.
The Bureau of Criminal Apprehension says it never received information on Oberender - meaning there was no record for him in background checks.
KARE 11 News is also getting a look at part of a chilling letter Oberender penned to his late mother. He wrote quote "I feel the good part of me fade away. I don't know how long I can hold it in for."
Oberender is in jail on charges of illegally possessing firearms.
He's held on $1,000,000 bail.
