1 dead after officer-involved shooting in Duluth

DULUTH, Minn. -  Specialists from the Minnesota Bureau of Criminal Apprehension (BCA) have been called to the 300 block of East Locust Street in Duluth to investigate an officer-involved shooting that took place early Tuesday morning.

Officials from the Duluth Police Department have confirmed for KBJR/The Northland News Center that one male is dead, while no responding officers were hurt or wounded.

Officer Jim Hansen says the shooting happened outside a single-family home in a residential neighborhood around 2:30 a.m.

Hansen says two officers responded to the residence, but he declined to say whether both officers fired their weapons.

The 300 Block of East Locust Street in Duluth will be blocked off until the investigation is complete.
