LONG LAKE, Minn. -- Wayzata police say that a home invasion that injured a Long Lake couple on Saturday afternoon was not a random attack.
The search continued on Sunday for three suspects who are believed to have targeted the couple.
The incident happened around 2 p.m. in the 200 block of Glenmoor Lane. Police say three armed men entered the home, bound the husband and wife, and forced them into the basement.
The woman was able to break free and contact police around 3:30 p.m.
Both victims suffered injuries. The man was transported to the hospital for treatment of neck and back injuries. The woman was struck in the face but declined medical treatment.
The men made off with the couple's cell phones, wallets and their 2013 Kia Sorento bearing Minnesota license plates 723-KVL.
The men should be considered armed and dangerous. Anyone with information is asked to call 911.
Wayzata police said they assisted the Hennepin County Drug Task Force in executing a search warrant at the home in October 2012.
Records obtained by KARE 11 also show nearly two dozens calls to the home since the beginning of 2011.
