ST. PAUL, Minn. - The Ramsey County Attorney's office has charged a 19-year-old man with two counts in conjunction with the brutal beating and robbery of a man on the east side of St. Paul on August 4.
Isaac Maiden, 19, has been charged with two counts of crime for the benefit of a gang including assault in the first degree and aggravated robbery.
St. Paul Police were called to Payne and Minnehaha Avenues where a fight was going on at approximately 11:30 p.m.
When they arrived officers observed 40 to 50 teens and young adults running from the area. A man was found on the ground with blood coming from his nose and mouth. Emergency personnel took the 26-year-old victim to Regions Hospital where he had severe and potentially fatal brain swelling.
Witnesses told police that a fight broke out at a party that spilled outside. While the fight was happening the victim walked upon the crowd. He was struck and fell to the ground and Maiden allegedly began hitting and stomping on the man. During the attack his pants and belongings were removed.
Maiden and others involved are known to be members of the Ham Crazy gang and associates with The East Side Boys gang in St. Paul.
