FALCON HEIGHTS, Minn. - Fair fun isn't just about food.  The folks with the Anaphylaxis and Food Allergy Association of Minnesota (AFAA) want everyone to have a great State Fair experience.

So at its Food Allergy Booth in the Health Fair 11 building, the AFAA will feature some non-food fun with Mad Science.    The kids can participate in some cool experiments while adults pick up information on food allergies and get a chance to "Ask the Doctor" during special sessions.

Be sure to stop by to answer the daily quiz question, sign up for the daily prize drawing, and pick up resources about the increasingly common health issue of food allergies.

AFAA is a volunteer-run non-profit organization whose mission is food allergy education, advocacy and support.

AFAA educates through its Food Allergy Conference & Expo at the University of Minnesota in September, Speakers' Bureau and E-Magazine.

It advocates for medical research, epinephrine accessibility, student accommodations, and awareness/training in the food industry.  It also hosts allergy-safe activities such as Minnesota's Food Allergy Awareness Walk in March, music concerts, and allergy-safe zones at Twins, Saints, Timberwolves and Lynx games and during trick-or-treating at the Mall of America.

AFAA's motto is "Take the Fear Out of Food Allergies!"
