BLOOMINGTON, Minn. - A collision between a train and a motor vehicle caused a stoppage of service on a light rail line in Bloomington Thursday.

Metro Transit spokesman John Siqveland tells KARE 11 that around 11:30 a.m. a northbound LRT Train collided with an eastbound vehicle at the intersection of 34th Avenue South and American Boulevard  in Bloomington, just north of the transit station.

The crash caused a disruption of service, forcing Metro Transit to use buses to move passengers along that stretch. The train is out of service temporarily while the investigation takes place and the damaged train is moved.

Siqveland says there were no injuries suffered during the crash.
