Fire scene in Lucan, Minn.
LUCAN, Minn. - Authorities say the remains of a second child have been recovered from the scene of a farmhouse fire in the southwestern Minnesota.
The child had been missing since the fire broke out in a two-story house in rural Lucan Wednesday afternoon. The remains of the second child were found late Thursday afternoon. The first child's remains were found late Wednesday evening.
Two adults and several other children were able to escape.
Fire officials say the house was fully engulfed when first responders arrived.
Vesta firefighter Neal Hansen was injured when he slipped and was run over by a tanker truck. He's currently hospitalized in Mankato.
The Minnesota Department of Public Safety says the names and ages of the victims will be released once positive identification is made by the Ramsey County Medical Examiner's Office.
The cause of the fire is under investigation.
