The return of a missing deer head is just as mysterious as its disappearance. The deer was the property of the Wildlife Science Center in Forest Lake. The center got it after the deer was hit by a car in Anoka County. They use road kill to feed the resident wolves. But this deer was very impressive. Its rack was going to be used for educational purposes. The 250 pound, 13-point buck got a lot of attention from people who wanted the antlers for their own. The next day officials at the Wildlife Center found someone had come in the middle of the night and cut off the deer's head. But it seems, after so much attention was paid to the theft, the deer head mysteriously re-appeared on Saturday. "Apparently the story last night made somebody nervous because today during our cleaning process we were moving a barrel and the deer head was stuffed underneath a barrel that we had used yesterday," says Peggy Callahan with the Wildlife Science Center. There is no word yet on who took the deer head in the first place.
