Rescue and dive teams from three counties searched Monday for an 18 year old Owatonna man who went missing Sunday night.
The man was ice fishing on Lake Tetonka in Waterville with six friends when he decided to go for a ride on his snowmobile. The man never returned.
Officials battling cold temperatures and strong currents, combed a patch of open water measuring 100 yards by 500 yards. They found the man's snowmobile submerged 25 feet down. He apparently was going for a short ride and was not wearing a jacket or gloves.
Authorities have not released the name of the missing high school senior.
Le Sueur County Sheriff Dave Gliszinski said the search will continue.
Another snowmobiler died after falling through the ice of Lake Minnetonka near Mound on Monday.
The Hennepin County sheriff's office said a call came in around 4:15 in the afternoon that a snowmobiler had fallen through the ice on Seton Channel. Authorities did pull the man from the water, but rescuers were unable to revive him.
His name has not been release pending notification of relatives.
