A 26-year-old St. Paul woman is charged with shooting another woman and her unborn baby. Authorities say Evalyn Bheaanu fired six bullets through a door and into a St. Paul apartment early last Sunday morning. One of the bullets hit 23-year-old Andrea Benjamin and her fetus. The baby was hit in the leg and had to be delivered six weeks early. The boy is expected to recover. Another bullet hit Benjamin's boyfriend, 18-year-old Rich Brown. Brown is also expected to survive. According to the criminal complaint, Bheaanu denied shooting Benjamin and Brown, but told investigators she was angry at them because they stole money and two cell phones from her. Benjamin told police the first time she saw Bheaanu was early Saturday morning. She said the grandfather of one of her son's came to her door with Bheaanu asking if they could use a room for thirty minutes. Benjamin told them no. She said Bheaanu returned to her apartment early Sunday, first kicking, then shooting the door. After her arrest police told Behaanu she shot the pregnant woman and her boyfriend. Behaanu reportedly responded by saying they deserved what they got. When investigators told Behaanu she also shot the fetus, Behaanu said she didn't care and again said they got what they deserved. Bheannu's first court appearance is Tuesday.
