WASHINGTON -- The mayors of St. Paul and Minneapolis are talking up events planned for the Republican National Convention
Those include "CivicFest," which will include exhibits and artifacts on Minnesota and U.S. history, at the Minneapolis Convention Center. "Hail to the Chief," an exhibit on presidencies dating back to George Washington, will be on view at the Minneapolis Institute of Arts. And "Spark24" will feature 24 consecutive hours of performances and entertainment in downtown Minneapolis.
St. Paul Mayor Chris Coleman promises "a heck of a show." Minneapolis Mayor R.T. Rybak says it will be a "great coming-out party" for the Twin Cities.
The mayors appeared at a National Press Club news conference Wednesday, along with Cynthia Lesher, president of the host committee for the convention.
