ST. PAUL -- Drivers looking for a parking spot in St. Paul will have to watch carefully where they leave their cars.

Like Minneapolis, St. Paul has enacted new winter parking restrictions to help emergency vehicles get through streets narrowed by all the snow.

Several streets are affected and according to the city's web site, signs are posted telling drivers where they can and can't park.

Public works officials will evaluate those streets on a weekly basis to determine how long the parking restrictions should remain in effect. Anyone who violates the restrictions could be ticketed and towed.

St. Paul's parking restrictions are not as uniform as the winter parking restrictions in Minneapolis, which only allow parking on the odd side of non-snow emergency routes.
