MINNEAPOLIS -- The suspect in a double shooting aboard a Metro Transit bus turned  himself in Wednesday afternoon.

Transit Police Chief Dave Indrehus said 18 year old Cornell Deangelo Roberson surrendered to investigators at the Hennepin County courthouse a day after his photo was circulated to the media and the public.

Roberson was accompanied by members of his family.

Indrehus said the suspect fired multiple shots while riding the Route 22 bus around 10:30 p.m., Saturday, Feb. 27. The shooting, which occured near 49th Street and Humboldt Avenue in Minneapolis, wounded two juveniles. Both are expected to recover.

A woman who was on the bus told KARE 11 she and everyone else on the bus ran up to the front after the shooting to get as far away from the gunman as possible.  She says the bus was moving when the suspect opened fire. As soon as the bus stopped, the suspect left the bus through the back exit and ran.

Roberson is being held at the Hennepin county jail while charges are considered. The case will likely be presented to the Hennepin county attorney's office later this week.
